A WIND change on Monday could put several properties at risk on South Australia's Kangaroo Island where a fire is burning at a woodchip mill.
The Country Fire Service said the blaze was sparked late on Saturday night and was expected to burn for several more days.
It posed no immediate threat to nearby homes but CFS regional officer Brenton Hastie said that could change on Monday with high temperatures and a wind change forecast.
"Tomorrow winds will turn northwesterly and could potentially result in several properties coming under threat from thick smoke and embers," he said.
The CFS has about 40 firefighters at the scene who have been using foam to suppress the blaze.
A community meeting for local residents has been organised for Monday morning to provide updated information.
